Sticky Tofu Recipe

Get ready for a flavour explosion with this irresistible sticky tofu!

Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Roll up your sleeves, grab your apron and let’s get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 600g firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • Sesame oil for frying
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp of minced ginger
  • Sesame seeds and coriander to garnish

Plus for the sauce:

  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes if desired

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 200c
2. Break the firm tofu into small chunks and sprinkle with cornflour. Give it a good toss with your hands so it’s all coated and bake the tofu for 20-30 minutes until crispy.

3. Meanwhile, combine all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
4. When the tofu is ready, heat a pan on medium-high with sesame oil and add the garlic and ginger. Fry for a minute until fragrant and pour in your sauce. Once the sauce starts to get sticky, add your baked tofu and stir to coat.
5. Serve with rice and top with sesame seeds and coriander
