Applewood is one of the UK's most recognisable smoked cheeses — and the vegan version brings the same distinctive smoky character to a completely plant-based block that grates, melts and slices convincingly well.
Made with a coconut oil base, it gets its characteristic flavour from yeast extract and natural smoke flavouring — not artificial smoke chemicals. The result is a mellow, creamy smokiness that works brilliantly on crackers, in toasted sandwiches or melted over jacket potatoes and pasta bakes.
Dairy free, gluten free, and vegan. No artificial colours or flavours. It doesn't pretend to be indistinguishable from dairy Cheddar — but it does its own thing very well, and Applewood's reputation for that signature smoky hit is very much intact.
How to use: Grate over hot dishes, slice for sandwiches and cheese boards, or melt into sauces. Stores well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks once opened.
