Billingtons have been producing unrefined cane sugar in the UK since 1858 — and golden granulated is their everyday workhorse. Unlike white refined sugar, which is stripped of all its natural molasses during processing, Billingtons golden granulated retains a small amount of natural molasses, giving it a subtle warmth and depth that white sugar simply doesn't have.
The flavour difference is noticeable in baking — cakes, biscuits and crumbles made with golden granulated have a slightly richer, more complex sweetness than those made with white sugar. It dissolves and performs exactly like white sugar in any recipe.

How to use: A straight swap for white granulated sugar in any recipe. Particularly good in crumbles, shortbreads, flapjacks and anything where a gentle caramel note enhances the flavour.
