Scotch bonnet chillies are one of the world's hottest — but their distinctive fruity, almost tropical character makes them more than just a heat delivery system. Eaten Alive's version ferments the scotch bonnets (12%) alongside capsicum and raw cane sugar in organic apple cider vinegar, developing a complex, genuinely fruity heat that builds slowly and lingers.
The fermentation softens the raw aggression of the scotch bonnet while preserving and deepening its characteristic tropical fruit notes. The result is a hot sauce that's genuinely, properly hot — but with flavour rather than just pain.
Fermented. Vegan. Free from seed oils. Contains organic cider vinegar.
Serving suggestion: Caribbean and West African cooking, jerk-style marinades, rice and peas, fried chicken, plantain — any dish where fruity, intense heat is called for. Use sparingly until you know your heat threshold.
