Hampstead Tea sources exclusively from biodynamic farms — a step beyond organic that treats the farm as a complete living system, following Rudolf Steiner's farming principles alongside Demeter certification. Their Earl Grey is biodynamic, organic and Fairtrade certified — making it arguably the most rigorously ethically sourced Earl Grey available in UK retail.
The tea is a classic Assam-based black tea blended with natural bergamot (the fragrant citrus oil that defines Earl Grey), giving a clean, aromatic cup with the characteristic floral-citrus bergamot note. The biodynamic farming tends to produce tea with a more complex, nuanced flavour than conventionally farmed alternatives.

How to brew: One bag per cup in freshly boiled water. Steep for 3–4 minutes. Best without milk to let the bergamot character come through.
