Longman’s Cornish Yarg with Garlic — a semi-hard cow’s milk cheese made with vegetarian rennet, wrapped in garlic leaves that impart a gentle, savoury warmth to the fresh, slightly tangy paste beneath. Made by Longman’s at their Somerset dairy. Contains milk.
Cornish Yarg is one of Britain’s most distinctive cheeses — pressed and then hand-wrapped in leaves that create a striking natural coating as the cheese matures. The garlic leaf variety gives a subtle aromatic depth without the sharpness of raw garlic — it perfumes rather than dominates. The texture moves from firm and crumbly near the leaf wrap to creamier and more yielding at the centre. Superb on a cheeseboard with apple chutney, melted over jacket potatoes, or simply eaten with good bread and a glass of something cold. Vegetarian rennet throughout.
