Meridian Organic Blackstrap Molasses — the thick, treacle-dark syrup from the final press of sugar cane refining. Certified organic. A natural source of iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium from the concentration of minerals left behind once the sugar is extracted. May contain peanuts, nuts, and sesame.
Blackstrap molasses is what remains after the third and final extraction of cane sugar — the least sweet, most mineral-rich stage of the process. The bold, bittersweet flavour works brilliantly stirred into warm drinks, smoothies, porridge, and marinades, or used in baking to add depth and a dark, complex sweetness. Produced in South America and valued by generations of natural health enthusiasts for its impressive mineral content.
