Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Extract 60ml

Nielsen-Massey have been producing fine vanilla products in Waukegan, Illinois since 1907. Their pure vanilla extract is widely considered among the world's finest — using traditional cold extraction methods that preserve the full complexity of the vanilla bean's over 300 flavour compounds rather than the handful captured by quick-extraction methods.

Pure vanilla extract is made by soaking split vanilla beans in an alcohol and water solution — the ethanol acts as the solvent, drawing out vanillin and the hundreds of other aromatic compounds that give genuine vanilla its irreproducibly complex character. Imitation vanilla uses only synthetic vanillin, which provides one flavour note rather than hundreds.

The difference in baking and desserts is meaningful — cakes, custards, ice cream and biscuits made with real vanilla extract have a depth and warmth that synthetic vanillin simply doesn't replicate.

Vegan. Contains ethanol (alcohol).

How to use: Add to baked goods, custards, ice cream, smoothies and desserts wherever vanilla flavour is called for. A teaspoon (5ml) is standard per recipe.
