Patak's lime pickle is a British-Indian kitchen staple — and for good reason. 76% whole lime pieces preserved in oil with mustard, chilli, fenugreek and spices create a condiment that's fiery, sour, oily and utterly addictive. The limes are prepared using the traditional method: whole limes fermented in salt and spices to develop their complex, deeply flavoured character over time.
Patak's have been making Indian condiments and cooking sauces in the UK since Laxmishankar Pathak opened his first shop in London in 1956. The lime pickle recipe has remained largely unchanged — a measure of its quality.
Vegan. No artificial preservatives.
Serving suggestion: As an accompaniment to curry, alongside samosas and pakoras, spread sparingly in sandwiches and wraps, or stirred through mayo for a quick lime pickle aioli. A little goes a long way — this is bold.
