Quorn Mince is the UK's most widely used meat-free mince — made from 88% mycoprotein, a protein derived from the naturally occurring fungus Fusarium venenatum, fermented and processed into a product that mimics the texture and versatility of minced beef with genuinely impressive fidelity.
Mycoprotein is a complete protein — containing all essential amino acids — and is naturally high in fibre, low in saturated fat and rich in zinc and selenium. The free-range egg white provides binding; pea fibre adds additional fibre content. Caramelised sugar gives the characteristic slightly roasted, meaty colour.
The versatility of Quorn mince is its main strength — it absorbs sauces, spices and aromatics readily and holds its texture in long-cooked dishes without going mushy. Bolognese, chilli, shepherd's pie, tacos, stuffed peppers — it works across all of these convincingly.
High protein. Lower in saturated fat than beef mince. Contains free-range egg white (not suitable for vegans — see Quorn vegan mince for an egg-free alternative). Contains wheat.
How to cook: Can be used from frozen. Add directly to sauces and cook for 10–12 minutes, or defrost and fry before adding sauce for better browning.
