Tony's Chocolonely are a Dutch chocolate brand on a mission to eradicate modern slavery and child labour from the cocoa supply chain — they've been naming and shaming the problem while building a model that proves ethical sourcing can produce excellent chocolate. Their Choc Chip Cookie bar embeds biscuit pieces (7.78%, from wheat flour and butter) into milk chocolate made with fairly traded cocoa and fully traceable ingredients.
The biscuit pieces give a satisfying crunch in a creamy milk chocolate — a classic flavour combination that Tony's execute with their characteristic high-quality cocoa sourcing. The uneven chunk sizes (distinctive in Tony's bars) represent their messaging about inequality in the chocolate supply chain.
