Vitamin B3 (niacin) is a critical precursor to NAD+ and NADH — coenzymes involved in hundreds of metabolic reactions including energy production, DNA repair and cellular longevity. At higher doses, niacin also has well-established effects on cholesterol metabolism, supporting normal metabolic function. It plays important roles in cognitive function, skin health and the nervous system.
Viridian's Hi-Potency Vitamin B3 provides 250mg of niacin per capsule — a therapeutically meaningful dose. Note: the typical 'niacin flush' (warm skin reddening) may occur at this dose; this is harmless and can be minimised by taking with food and plenty of water.
