N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is the most direct and bioavailable precursor to glutathione — often called the body's master antioxidant. Glutathione is present in virtually every cell and is central to antioxidant defence, detoxification, immune modulation and mitochondrial health. Unlike supplemental glutathione itself (which is poorly absorbed orally), NAC is well-absorbed and reliably raises cellular glutathione levels.
NAC has extensive clinical research supporting its use in liver protection (it is the clinical antidote for paracetamol overdose), respiratory health (breaks down mucus in the lungs), mental health (evidence for OCD, addiction and mood), and general antioxidant protection. Viridian provides 600mg per capsule in a clean, high-potency formula.
Take 1 capsule, 1–2 times daily with food. Best taken away from protein-heavy meals for optimal absorption.
