The Organic Echinacea Tincture is made with fresh UK grown Echinacea purpurea (whole plant) in organic alcohol. Suitable for ages 12+.
Echinacea Origin
The Echinacea species are perennial herbs native to Midwestern North America although they grow well in the UK and North European climates. Of the nine species, E. Angustifolia, E. Purpurea, and E. Pallida are the most commonly used.
Historically, Echinacea has been used by the American Indians for more illnesses than any other plant.
Echinacea Benefits and Properties
The main use of Echinacea medicinally has been to help boost our immune systems and fight infections, with research also suggesting that Echinacea is beneficiail in preventing colds - making this herb particularly relevant in the winter months.
Echinacea contains three major groups of constituents that may work together, including alkylamides/polyacetylenes, caffeic acid derivatives, and polysaccharides.
