Zaytoun (the Arabic word for olive) are a UK social enterprise with a mission to create sustainable livelihoods for Palestinian farmers. Their medjoul dates come from Palestinian growers in the Jordan Valley, with every purchase contributing directly to fair income for the farming families who grow them.
Medjoul dates are the premium variety of the date world — large, plump and intensely sweet with a naturally caramel-like flavour and a moist, almost toffee-like texture. They're sometimes called 'the king of dates' and command a premium because of their flavour complexity compared to the drier, smaller varieties more commonly available.

Serving suggestion: On their own as a natural sweet, stuffed with almond butter or tahini, in energy balls with oats and cocoa, as a natural sweetener in smoothies, or on a cheese board alongside strong cheese. Pit-free serving: pull the two ends and the stone lifts out easily.
